Rogues Ink — Carrots Usage Terms
Closed-beta notice. These Carrots Usage Terms govern only how Carrots and Ink are used inside Rogues Ink. They do not govern how Carrots are earned, the broader Carrots system, or any other use of Carrots in the Rogues NFT project. A comprehensive Carrots terms document covering the broader system is planned. Like the Rogues Ink Holder Terms and Privacy Policy, this document was prepared by the operator with AI research assistance and has not been reviewed by external legal counsel. It will be reviewed by counsel before any public-web or open-registration launch of Rogues Ink (see ADR 0013).
These Carrots Usage Terms ("Carrots Terms") describe how Carrots and Ink are used within the Rogues Ink AI image generation tool. They are part of, and incorporated by reference into, the Rogues Ink Holder Terms of Use ("Holder Terms"). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Holder Terms.
By accepting the Holder Terms (which incorporate these Carrots Terms), you agree to these Carrots Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Rogues Ink.
1. What Carrots and Ink are
Carrots
Carrots are a project-issued reward unit used across the Rogues NFT ecosystem. Holders earn Carrots through activities operated by Rogues NFT Inc. and its collaborators (including raids, missions, games, streams, and other community activities). The broader Carrots system — including how Carrots are earned, the systems that issue them, and any other use of Carrots outside Rogues Ink — is governed separately and is not within the scope of these Carrots Terms.
These Carrots Terms cover only how Carrots are used to purchase Ink inside Rogues Ink (see §2), how Ink is consumed by generations (see §3), and how refunds work when a Rogues Ink generation fails (see §4).
Carrots have no financial or monetary value. Carrots are not currency, are not securities, are not a digital asset or token in any legal or regulatory sense, are not redeemable for money or any other consideration, and may not be sold, traded, transferred, or otherwise exchanged for value of any kind. Carrots exist solely as an internal project mechanic for community engagement within the Rogues NFT ecosystem and have no intrinsic, market, or speculative value. Carrots do not represent, entitle you to, or constitute any commitment, promise, or indication of any future token, cryptocurrency, airdrop, distribution, reward, financial benefit, or other consideration from Rogues NFT Inc. or any affiliated party. No Carrots balance creates any expectation of receiving value in the future.
Your Carrots balance is managed by an external system operated by Rogues NFT Inc.'s collaborators (the "Carrots API," located at api.roguesnft.com). Rogues Ink reads and updates your balance through the Carrots API; the balance itself is authoritative on the Carrots API side, not within the Rogues Ink bot.
Ink
Ink is an in-bot resource that represents the right to perform a bounded number of image generations through Rogues Ink. Ink slots are stored in the Rogues Ink bot's own ledger (separate from the Carrots API) and are acquired by exchanging Carrots for Ink via the /buy command described in §2.
Ink exists solely as a Rogues Ink mechanic. Like Carrots, Ink has no financial or monetary value, is not currency, is not securities, is not a digital asset or token in any legal or regulatory sense, is not redeemable for money or any other consideration, and may not be sold, traded, transferred, or otherwise exchanged for value of any kind. Ink does not represent, entitle you to, or constitute any commitment, promise, or indication of any future token, cryptocurrency, airdrop, distribution, reward, financial benefit, or other consideration from Rogues NFT Inc. or any affiliated party.
2. Buying Ink with Carrots
You acquire Ink by running the /buy command in the Rogues Ink bot. The default price is 33 Carrots per Ink slot, with the option to purchase multiple slots in a single transaction. The cost per Ink slot is operationally tunable by Rogues NFT Inc. and may change during the closed-beta phase; the current price is displayed at the time you initiate a purchase, and you authorize the deduction of Carrots from your Carrots balance when you confirm the transaction.
When you confirm a purchase, the Rogues Ink bot calls the Carrots API to deduct the corresponding Carrots from your balance and credits the equivalent Ink slots to your Rogues Ink ledger. If the Carrots deduction fails (insufficient balance, Carrots API error, or other failure), no Ink is credited and you are notified.
Ink slots once credited are non-transferable and may not be returned to Carrots except as provided in §4 (Refunds).
3. Spending Ink on generations
Generation and regeneration
Each Ink slot grants:
- one image generation via the
/generatecommand, plus - up to two regenerations of that generation via the regenerate button on the generated image.
Generating an image consumes the slot's primary attempt. The regenerate button is provided to accommodate the inherent variability of AI image generation (see Holder Terms §6) — you may use it to retry the generation up to two times without additional Carrots or Ink cost. Using all three attempts exhausts the slot.
Regenerate button time window
The regenerate button on a generated image is active for 48 hours from the time the original generation was produced, and is usable only by the holder who originally requested the generation. After 48 hours, the regenerate button on that specific generation is no longer functional, even if the underlying Ink slot still has regen attempts remaining. The 48-hour window applies to the button as a UI affordance; it is not an extension of the slot's own validity.
Ink slot expiration
Ink slots that have not been fully consumed expire at midnight UTC on Sunday of each week. Once an Ink slot expires, any remaining attempts on it (whether the original generation or any unused regens) are forfeit and are not refunded to Carrots. The Sunday-midnight expiration applies on a weekly cadence and is not modifiable per holder.
Weekly and monthly limits
Weekly and monthly generation limits apply. Current limits are operator-set by Rogues NFT Inc. and may change during the closed-beta phase. You can check your current usage, remaining capacity, and Ink slot balance at any time via the /balance command.
Fulfilled generations are not refundable for quality
Ink is deducted before the AI model runs. Once the model produces an image, the generation is considered fulfilled regardless of whether the output meets your expectations — AI image generation is inherently variable, and you acknowledge under Holder Terms §6 that outputs may include errors, hallucinations, or content that does not match your prompt. No refunds are provided for fulfilled generations on the basis of output quality or subjective dissatisfaction with the result. The two included regenerations per Ink slot are the intended mechanism for retrying a result you are unhappy with.
4. Refunds
The following are the only circumstances in which refunds are issued after Ink has been deducted:
- Filter-blocked generations. Where a generation request is blocked by Rogues Ink's automated content-safety filter and Ink was deducted to fund the request, the full Ink slot cost (the current Carrots-per-slot price at the time of the original purchase) is refunded to your Carrots balance via the Carrots API. This is described in Holder Terms §4 and is the sole remedy for filter blocks.
- Failed generations. Where Ink is deducted but the generation fails to complete due to a technical failure on Rogues Ink's side (for example, the AI inference service returns an error before producing an image, or the bot fails to deliver the completed image to you), the full Ink slot cost in Carrots is refunded to your Carrots balance via the Carrots API.
Refunds under §§4(a) and 4(b) are issued in Carrots, not in restored Ink, and equal the full slot cost regardless of whether the failure occurred on the original generation or on a subsequent regenerate attempt. Refunds are processed via an idempotent refund mechanism keyed on the generation request_id and may take a short time to appear in your Carrots balance after the underlying failure is detected.
No other refunds. Beyond §4(a) and 4(b) above, neither Ink slots nor the Carrots used to purchase them are refundable. This includes, without limitation: dissatisfaction with the generated output, change of mind after a successful generation, perceived prompt misinterpretation, Ink slot expiration under §3, and any other reason not specifically listed in §§4(a) or 4(b).
5. Pricing changes
The cost per Ink slot (default 33 Carrots), weekly and monthly generation limits, the 48-hour regenerate window, the Sunday-midnight Ink expiration cadence, and the included regenerations per slot may all be modified by Rogues NFT Inc. during the closed-beta phase, consistent with Holder Terms §2A.
We may modify any of these parameters at any time and without notice. The current values are operative as displayed in the bot at the time of your interaction (/buy shows the current per-slot price; /balance shows your current usage and limits). We do not commit to any specific cost level, pricing model, limit values, expiration cadence, or pricing stability during the closed-beta phase.
If pricing changes during a session, the new price applies to subsequent purchases; Ink slots already purchased at a prior price are not retroactively adjusted up or down.
6. No third-party sales, no payment processing
Rogues Ink does not sell Carrots. Rogues Ink does not process payments for Carrots. The exchange of Carrots for Ink described in §2 is an internal mechanic between two non-cash resources; it is not a sale, is not a financial transaction, and does not involve any payment processor or financial institution.
If you wish to acquire Carrots, you may do so only through official means provided by Rogues NFT Inc. or its collaborators (raids, missions, staking, games, and other community activities). Those means are governed separately by the broader Carrots system terms (when published).
If any official Carrots purchase mechanism becomes available within Rogues Ink during the closed-beta phase (for example, a cash-on-ramp for Carrots), these Carrots Terms will be updated to reflect the purchase flow and any applicable terms, and the update will trigger re-acceptance under Holder Terms §1.5.
7. Suspension, balance loss, and discontinuation
Consistent with Holder Terms §2A and §9:
- Rogues NFT Inc. may suspend or terminate your access to Rogues Ink at any time, including for violation of the Holder Terms or these Carrots Terms.
- Rogues NFT Inc. may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Rogues Ink service, the Carrots-based access mechanism, the Ink slot model, or any economic parameter at any time during the closed-beta phase.
- Carrots are issued and managed by external systems and may be subject to changes, corrections, or discontinuation by their issuers, independent of Rogues Ink. Rogues Ink is not responsible for the issuance, accounting, security, or persistence of your Carrots balance on the Carrots API.
- Ink slots are stored in the Rogues Ink bot's ledger and are subject to the expiration mechanics described in §3 and to the discontinuation rights reserved in this §7.
If Rogues Ink is discontinued, Ink slots remaining in your balance are not refunded as Carrots, cash, or other consideration. Carrots remaining in your broader balance (outside Rogues Ink) continue to be governed by the broader Carrots system, independently of Rogues Ink.
8. No warranty; limitation of liability
The "as-is" service provision in Holder Terms §6 and the limitation of liability in Holder Terms §8 apply to all matters arising under these Carrots Terms, including without limitation: pricing changes, refund timing, Carrots balance accuracy, Ink slot balance accuracy, failed generations, expired Ink slots, expired regenerate buttons, suspended access, and the operation of the Carrots API.
9. Changes to these Carrots Terms
We may update these Carrots Terms from time to time. Material changes are treated as material changes to the Holder Terms for the purposes of Holder Terms §11 and §1.5: we will issue a new terms_version_hash for the Holder Terms (which incorporate these Carrots Terms) and require you to re-accept via /accept-terms before continued use of the Rogues Ink bot.
Non-material changes (typographical corrections, clarifying language that does not alter your rights or obligations) may be made without re-acceptance, but will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and noted in the document changelog.
